SF50 Training

We are insurance approved for initial and recurrent training. We also provide an array of training and pilot services to maximize your proficiency throughout the year such as special mission training and six month instrument proficiency checks.

Yes, we encourage our clients to develop their proficiency by using our instructors to safely experience expanded mission profiles such as busy terminal environments, mountain airport operations and expanded weather capability. 

Each client will have a designated primary instructor responsible for mentoring them through the learning experience. Our schedule is based on a 9 to 5 day with the ability to adjust for any jet lag. The first few morning sessions are knowledge acquisition via classroom sessions, avionics training and hands on systems/abnormal procedures integration. The afternoons will be spent on skill acquisition and development in the simulator and/or the aircraft. 

The syllabus is based on 8 days on a full time basis and this can be adjusted based upon client requirements. This adjustment can compress the course down to 6 days assuming the client is thoroughly familiar with the pre-course study material, has operational familiarity with the Garmin G1000/G3000 and is IFR proficient.

The final evaluation flight with the Designated Pilot Examiner will be in the actual aircraft. 

No, we are an independent training provider for SF50 type rating training.  Aero City Jets has been teaching single pilot jet type ratings since 2011 and now we are bringing our years of expertise to the SF50 community as a convenient alternative to OEM training slots.

We work closely with highly experienced independent pilot examiners locally and around the country to ensure a seamless experience from training through evaluation.

Unlike initial jet type ratings done in a simulator pilots graduating our course do not have a 25 hour supervised operating experience (SOE) limitation placed on their certificates.

Unlike other training facilities all our training is on a one to one basis so we can tailor the pace and emphasis to each particular client. We also cater to your group needs when you book for multiple concurrent type ratings. We never combine you course with others.

The traditional SF50 type rating course is longer because the syllabus is prescriptive and cannot be tailored to an individual pilot. This is because they chose to have their course certified under Part 142. Our syllabus is based upon demonstrated proficiency in both knowledge and skill so we can place emphasis where required. This process is enhanced by our instructors having thousands of hours teaching in single pilot jets.

Upon analysis of SF50 pilots conventional training outcomes we have identified a number of areas where small changes can lead to improved safety and proficiency. This manifests itself in lower automation reliance, enhanced task prioritization and improved manual flying capability.
